When I became a vegan about 4 years ago, it was not a challenge getting in my daily greens because I loved my leafy greens and veggies.

I’d make salads, juices or steam them just to enjoy a variety.

Sadly, as the years went by I realized that I’d only be having greens once per week and sometimes not at all.

I came to this realization close to the end of 2018 when I noticed my skin was losing that beautiful glow that only healthy greens can give you.

I started having terrible break outs.

This led me to start experimenting with at home acne remedies, thinking it was an external problem.

Let me tell you, they did not work in the long run but that’s another story for another time.

It then dawned on me that my issue was internal.

The only things about my diet that had really changed over the past few years were my lack of greens and, at the time, I wasn’t drinking enough water.

Of course, I tried to buy more veggies but they would stay in the refrigerator and spoil because I’d forget about it when making dinner.

So, like I love to do, I did some research to find the easiest way to supplement greens in my diet.

Surprisingly there were quite a few options on the market and boy was I happy!

NOTE: I’m not actually replacing my veggies with supplements.

I still to make every effort to incorporate veggies and leafy greens back into my daily diet but on the days when it gets rough, the supplements will come in handy.

After reading reviews and doing a lot of elimination, I decided to try the Naturelo, Premium Supplements, Raw Greens Whole Food Powder.

Naturelo Raw Greens Powder Overview

Naturelo is a fairly new company, started in 2013.

They manufacture their products in the U.S. but are located in Vancouver Canada.

They create whole food supplements to both the local and international markets.

Naturelo Raw Greens Whole Food Powder contains not soy, no GMOs, no added sugar and is vegetarian/vegan.

One scoop contains 32 calories, 0.5 grams protein, 4 grams total sugar, total carbohydrate 7.5 grams and dietary fiber 3.5 grams.

The Ingredients

They broke down the ingredients into categories based on the blends so you can understand the different benefits of the powder.

  • The greens blend is 3,300 mg and contains organic broccoli, organic spurlina, organic wheat grass kale and other organic greens.
  • The fiber blend is 2860mg, containing organic apple, inulin, brown rice bran and sunflower lecithin.
  • The Anti-Aging blend is 800 mg, which includes organic goji berries, organic rose hips, organic beet root and other super greens.
  • Immunity blend 320 mg has organic licorice root, organic ginger root, organic astragalus root and organic echinacea angustifolia root.
  • Anti-Stress blend is 200 mg. It has organic ashwagandha root, organic rhodiola root, organic Siberian eleuthero root and organic reishi mushroom.
  • Energy blend is 200 mg consisting of organic nettle lead, organic maca root, organic Asian ginseng root and organic schisandra berry.

The Probiotic blend is 16 billion CFU and the Digestive Enzyme blend is 180 mg with protease, cellulase, papain, amylase, lipase and bromelain.

The size I bought gave 30 servings.

You can get the 60 servings as well but as a trial I wanted to start out small.

How To Use This Green Powder

They offer unsweetened and wild berry which is the sweentened version.

It was not too sweet and the sweetness was actually just from the plants that were used, no additives were included.

Had I not known that is was a whole food powder, it could pass for a flavoured refreshing drink when just mixed with water.

It tastes nothing like a healthy drink so you can even give it to your kids who hate their veggies.

The recommended amount daily is 1 scoop.

You can use it your smoothies and juices. I have been including it in my morning smoothies and shakes.

I do this by adding one scoop of it to whatever concoction I’m putting together in my Sboly Personal Blender.

On days when I’m not on the go I’ll just mix it in some cold water and have it as my drink with my meal or I had it to whatever drink I’ll be having at dinner.

3 Recipes To Try With Naturelo Raw Greens Powder

1. Basic Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 Frozen ripe bananas
  • 1 Scoop of Naturelo Greens Powder Supplement
  • 1 cup almond milk

Instructions:

  • Put sliced bananas into blender
  • Add raw green powder supplement
  • Pour in the almond milk
  • Add cubes of ice (optional)
  • Blend until smooth.

2. Berry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of grapes
  • 1/4 cup of strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 Scoop of Naturelo Greens Powder Supplement

Instructions:

  • Add to your blender the grapes, strawberries.
  • Slice the banana into small pieces then add them to the blender.
  • Add one scoop of the Naturelo supplement.
  • Pour in the almond milk then blend until smooth.

It is my post workout protein shake. I’ve started adding the Naturelo Raw Greens Powder to it as well.

3. Choco-Banana Protein Shake

Ingredients:

  • 1 Frozen ripe banana
  • 1 Scoop of chocolate protein shake
  • 1 tablespoon of Nutiva Hemp Seeds
  • 1/2 Cup of almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 Cup of filtered water
  • 1 Scoop of Naturelo Raw Greens Powder

Instructions:

  • Slice the banana and place it in the blender
  • Add one scoop of chocolate protein shake
  • One scoop of Naturelo Raw Greens Powder
  • Add one tablespoon of Nutiva Hemp Seeds
  • Pour in the almond milk
  • Add water and ice cubes if needed.
  • Blend ingredients until smooth. Enjoy.

You may have noticed that all my recipes include bananas.

That was intentional, I had a lot of bananas I needed to use up so I went a little bananas this time around.

The Naturelo Raw Greens Powder was really good and I can honestly saw my skin has started to look and feel better.

I don’t plan on replacing my veggies with it but I will certainly be making it a part of my diet that’s here to stay.

Plus, I love the fact that it does not taste like I’m eating dirt.
